Abstract Submission

The Scientific Committee of the 2nd WABA conference is proud to announce that the abstract submission has now been opened.

We welcome all abstracts on topics related to biosecurity in livestock production and aquaculture. Abstracts can be submitted for oral and/or poster presentations.
Each oral presentation will receive a time slot of 15 minutes, including 5 minutes for discussion time. There will also be some 5-minute flash talks, including 2 minutes for questions.
A prize for the best poster and oral presentation will be awarded.
The deadline for abstract submission is 15 June 2026. All abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee.
The review is confidential and decisions are final. The communication on the acceptance of an oral or poster presentation will follow on 15 July 2026. Poster presentations will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis with a maximum of 100 posters.

The abstracts will be reviewed for the following criteria:

  • Topic within the scope of biosecurity in livestock production and aquaculture
  • Scientific importance
  • Novelty and impact in biosecurity
  • Clear overview of research and results
Abstract submission guidelines

Submission of an abstract acknowledges acceptance for the abstract to be published in the official abstract book of
the conference.
Authors are required to indicate their preference for oral or poster presentations by checking the appropriate box in
the abstract template.
The presenting author agrees to register, attend the congress and present the abstracts as scheduled. The abstract
will be rejected if the presenting author does not register to attend the conference. Registration of the presenting
author should be completed before 15 September 2026.

Prepare the abstract

To submit your abstract for the 2nd WABA conference click here to download the official abstract template in MS Word form.
Abstracts must be written and presented in English. Linguistic accuracy is the responsibility of the authors.
The abstract should be written in Calibri, font size 12 and must include some main components:

Titel: Use a concise title that indicates the content of the abstract and do not exceed 30 words

Author information: The names of all authors should be included. Provide the affiliation of all authors and use superscript numbers to match individual authors with their corresponding affiliations.

Presenting author: Underline the name of the presenting author and provide the email address. If the presenting author does not register in time, your contribution will be removed form the program.

Abstract text: The abstract text should consists of no more than 350 words and contain the following parts; Background, Materials and methods, Results, Discussion and conclusion.

Keywords: Provide between 3 and 5 keywords relevant for your abstract

Acknowledgements (optional): Please provide a concise sentence to acknowledge funding sources or institutional support.

Indicate in the template whether there is any conflict of interest and, if generative AI was used in the preparation of the abstract, provide a brief explanation. In the template, select whether the abstract is intended for oral or poster presentation. If the results included in the abstract were obtained within the framework of the Horizon Europe BIOSECURE project, tick the corresponding box.
